Making Waves More Info

Whether you are a surfing pro or have never been on a board, volunteers who join this program will be able to walk away as confident surfers as well as knowing they made a difference in the local community.

Spend your morning perfecting your surfing technique while getting instructions from surfing experts! In the afternoons, you will work with local children to provide mentorship and guidance as many of these children do not have access to many opportunities.

The true rewarding part of this program is being able to work with the local children and helping transform the community and watch as children reach their full potential. As a volunteer you can bring your expertise, whether it’s painting, playing soccer or reading and share these with the local children. Many of them do not have access to recreational activities and the time they get to spend with the volunteers is the highlight of their day! OH and you learn to surf on top of all of that!
Volunteers will stay in a volunteer house (3-4 people/room) with a communal lounge and kitchen.
Monday: Accommodation maintenance and working in the community
Tuesday – Friday: Surf Lessons in the morning and community work in the afternoon including school empowerment sessions, workshop & leadership sessions, water fitness training and life skills coaching
