LIVING WITH HORSES ON SAFARI

Program Overview

Where better to learn how to ride a beautiful horse than in the middle of the secluded African bush? Volunteers will surely have a unique nature experience, emphasizing conservation of both animals and ecosystems, with activities like tracking, learning about horse behavior and additional equestrian work. Our volunteers will gain immense knowledge, while having had an incredible and relaxing experience in one of Africa’s wildest areas.

Your Role

Volunteers at the program will have the opportunity to learn the correct way to ride a horse, how to properly handle horses and most importantly improve riding skills all while exploring a wildlife reserve! This program offers volunteers a chance to experience natural African wildlife while also going on exciting horseback safaris through the bush. Volunteers will take horses for a swim in a dam, gallop through the winding paths of the property, or take a quiet stroll through the bush, meeting impala and giraffe on the way. For beginner riders, lessons are provided to teach advanced riding and jumping to improve volunteer’s comfort and riding ability.

In addition to the volunteer equestrian work, game drives will take place on the adjacent Big 5 Game Reserve!
