Past Volunteer Experiences!
Situated on the Orange River, 4 hours from Upington (SA) this program is focused on the protection of a 45,000ha nature reserve with the aim of reintroducing the Black Rhino and preserving the endangered Namibian leopard. This is an adventure conservation experience with a hands-on approach and learn the day-to-day life of working in wildlife conservation. This program makes a real difference towards conservation efforts in Namibia.
Volunteers will gain experience in game park management, wildlife monitoring (daily game drives) nocturnal wildlife tracking, research brown hyena, leopard, birds and reptiles. Volunteers will also have an opportunity to get involved with community development and education projects, teaching local communities and children about the importance of preserving wildlife and the environment and volunteering at the community soup kitchen.
Accommodation & Meals
Unwind at our Bedouin Desert Tented Camp.
Volunteers stay in a semi-luxury deserted tented camp, rooms with 2-5 other volunteers. There are communal western style flush bathrooms plus two outdoor showers that can be used after those hot African days. The house tented camp also equipped with a kitchen, lounge and bar area.
Included in this program are 3 meals daily; breakfast, lunch and dinner. Snacks throughout the day are also included. If you have any dietary requirements please make us aware prior to your arrival. Please note that if you wish to purchase any additional snacks there will be shop run each week. Alcohol is sold at our bar.
