LIVING WITH Cheetahs Volunteer Program

Program Overview

The aim of this program is to breed rare and endangered species while giving volunteers an opportunity to work with wildlife and experience the African bush. The program supports scientific studies of these endangered species and future breeding projects in order to re-establish these animals.

Your Role

Volunteers will be responsible for the care of these animals and will learn about the process involved in conserving, caring and interacting with endangered species. Program activities including preparing food and feeding the animals, cleaning waterholes and feeding stations, farm maintenance, running the cheetahs and partaking in a reserve tour.

Mondays

All Day
Volunteers arrive at the facility. Upon arrival volunteers will be welcomed and shown to their accommodation. Once settled in, volunteers are given an introduction tour of the farm.

Tuesday - Friday

7:30AM - 8:30AM
Breakfast
8:30AM - 12:30PM
Morning activity; including, preparing food and feeding cheetahs, tour of facility and feeding of all animals (wild dog, vultures etc.), cheetah run and many more!
12:30PM - 2:00PM
Lunch
2:00PM - 4:00PM
Afternoon activity; including, farm maintenance, mountain hike and additional animal related tasks.
4:00PM - Late
Dinner plus volunteers will have a variety of evening activities planned such as game drives, trivia nights and a braai each weekend.

Volunteers are given this day to participate in any local excursions they choose (please note this will be at the volunteers own expense).

Sunday

All Day
Volunteers are given this day off to relax at the accommodation to swim and relax.

Accommodation & Meals

Live comfortably in the African bush.

Volunteers will stay at one of our chalets with several rooms that accommodate 2-4 volunteers each with communal bathrooms. Each chalet is equipped with a full kitchen, pool, patio and braai area for socializing.

Included in this program are 3 meals daily; breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you have any dietary requirements please make us aware prior to your arrival. Please note that if you wish to purchase any additional snacks there is a curio shop on site or it can be picked up in town.
